Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny on various Golden Globe & SAG Awards
Golden Globes 1997: David Duchovny wins Best Actor on a TV Series Drama for The X Files (x)
Years ago, The X-files crew filmed this video for Bree Sharp’s song “David Duchovny.” If I’m not mistaken, it was meant to be a birthday gift for Duchovny?
Up until now, the only copy of this video available on the net has been exceedingly grainy. But someone recently released this higher quality version.
As an X-phile, clearly this has been a favourite.
But you won’t *believe* how many cameos there are. To name only a few, Janeane Garofalo, Brad Pitt, Calista Flockhart, Alex Trebeck, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kiss.. there’s literally nearly 20 different celebrities.
And of course, the x-files cast & crew make appearances too. And there’s bloopers at the end! So many bloopers! This is a must watch for anyone. If you’re not an X-files fan, watch it anyway. The hilarious cameo spotting is beyond worth it.
This video is like a tour of what television was like in the mid 1990s.

THE LINT MOMENT
When your boss is talking about serious business right next to you and all you care about is removing lints on your co star clothes and play with him
They really were in their own little world ♥♥♥

I remember freaking out about this when it happened. Ugh, I love them so much.

“As they come together to kiss, you’ll see the camera pull out of the door and that was the last shot of David and Gillian together. We wrapped and David and Gillian stood in that room together alone and held each other for a good five minutes. They didn’t talk. They didn’t move. They just held each other, tears running down their faces.”
Director Kim Manners, “Toronto Sun: Showbiz,” 2001

“That last day was surreal. I think a part of my brain was trying to ignore the fact that it was approaching, so I was kind of going about my day as if it were any other day, and then we ended up in this scene with this dialogue that was the end for that stage of our relationship. All of a sudden I think he was more aware of it and was being really mindful of that last scene.
“I blocked it out until the last moment where all of a sudden it hit me, that this person that I was standing in front of as I know him and have known him for such a long time, that this aspect of our relationship was coming to a close. We embraced and I just burst into tears. We held our embrace for a really long time and I think it was just flooding over us, the importance of this agreement that we’ve had to be in each other’s lives in a very powerful way.”Gillian Anderson on filming ‘Existence;’ “Dreamwatch,” 2002

OMG, my favorite clip from any of the X-File blooper reels ever. Look at them! Look at how she looks at him!
